Dr. Bauman combines decades of experience with today’s most advanced diagnostic instrumentation to provide you with a thorough and comprehensive eye exam. Your exam begins with a consultation and case history. You will then be directed to our pre-testing area where you will undergo a series of tests designed to accurately evaluate the current state of your health and vision. These tests are designed to detect early signs of glaucoma, cataracts and other eye diseases as well as tumors, tears or other disorders that may require immediate attention. Left untreated, these conditions can result in significant vision loss or blindness. For these reasons, regular eye exams and early detection are critical.

Optomap® Retinal Exam provides us with the unique ability to obtain a larger view of your retina when compare to conventional eye exam equipment. These images can be obtained without the need to dilate your pupils—a very common procedure which many people find uncomfortable and inconvenient. The Optomap image is immediately available for review, non-invasive and a part of your permanent record at our office. And because it does not require pupil dilation, patients can resume normal activities immediately. Dr. Bauman is among the few eye care professional with the resources and training to provide his patients with this advanced diagnostic option.

We are proud to become one of the country’s first eye care practices to adopt an FDA approved diagnostic test to accurately screen for diabetes. The ClearPath DS-120™ Lens Fluorescence Biomicroscope is a non-invasive tool designed to quickly and accurately measure autofluorescence through a six second scan of the crystalline lens of the eye. Elevated auto fluorescence is a result of uncontrolled glucose caused by diabetes. Testing for auto fluorescence may indicate a patient’s potential for pre-diabetes up to seven years before the onset of disease complications. The scan does not require drawing blood or pupil dilation and is performed at no extra charge for all eye examinations.
